Black History Month is an annual observance in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States. It began as a way for remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. It is celebrated annually in Canada in February.

Black History Month is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about the many contributions Black Canadians have made to Canada. Every February, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians, past and present.
